Unique Pinball and Amusement Machine Show makes debut in San Francisco Bay Area October 5-7.

The Neptune Beach Amusement Museum in collaboration with Novato’s Pinball Revival Company is sponsoring the first annual Pacific Pinball Exposition at the Marin County Civic Center Exhibition Hall, 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael, CA.  Adult tickets are $20 for one day and $35 for a weekend pass.  Children 12 and under are $10 for one day and $25 for a weekend pass.  More information is available online at www.nbam.org/ppexpo.

While the Visible Pinball is expected to get a lot of attention, the Exposition will also feature hundreds of pinball machines set on free play for attendees to play and enjoy. .   In addition, a number of rare, antique pinball machines from the 1930’s and earlier will be on display.

Jim Dietrick, owner of Pinball Revival, the premiere Vintage Pinball and Game restorer on the West Coast is co-producing the show. “I wanted to do a different type of show that really paid homage to the pinball, not only for its entertainment value, but also the contributions made to American culture as reflected in the art and evolution of the game.” Dietrick said. “Pinball is one of those rare things that is uniquely American.  It deserves a spot right next to baseball and apple pie!” he added. Dietrick does high end restorations for many collectors at his Novato based shop and was the originator of the show. He and Michael decided to collaborate on the show to raise money and awareness for the museum effort. More information on Jim and Pinball Revival is available at www.pinballrevival.com

This show is a new direction for pinball shows. It features hundreds of vintage machines and amusement devices from the 1800’s to 2007 highlighting their historical and cultural significance and honoring their impact on America.

The Pacific Pinball Exhibition will feature exhibits on the history of pinball, the science and physics of pinball, the evolution of the game and its mechanisms. Free seminars will be offered on how to buy and setup your first pinball machine, electromechanical and electronic pinball troubleshooting and restoration, and the secrets of pinball wizardry.

Proceeds from this event go to the Neptune Beach Amusement Museum, a 501 c 3 Non Profit focused on teaching art, history, and science through pinball and other amusement machines.
